Digital impression systems allow dentists to take a scan of a patient’s teeth and bite, ensuring that cosmetic and structural restorations are precise. Digitally-created restorations not only improve the look of your teeth, but both patients and dentists report that they fit better than other restorations. A more precise fit gives you a more natural look without discomfort.
Digital impressions are used for making veneers, crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays for single or multiple teeth. These restorations and appliances need to be custom fitted to your mouth. Traditionally, dentists took impressions using a tray filled with gummy material. Patients often found it uncomfortable to sit for several minutes while the messy goo hardened and the impression could be removed.
